In December 2010 the Discovery Science channel production team filmed 30-hours of footage of the works for the construction of a new bridge over the Sava River in Belgrade, Serbia. Upon completion, the bridge will be the widest mixed use (highway and rail) asymmetric stay cable bridge in the world. The documentary film will be aired this summer throughout Europe in the “Extreme Engineering” show (“Build it Bigger” in the US) of the Discovery Science channel. The City of Belgrade is proceeding successfully with the construction of one the largest cable-stayed bridges in the world. This ambitious project will provide the City of Belgrade with not only a highly needed additional crossing over the River Sava, but will also be a landmark structure symbolizing the regeneration and dynamism of the city in the new millennium. http://science.discovery.com/tv/build-bigger/projects/serbia/sava-river-bridge.html http://www.savabridge.com/progress.htm
